2. Water flows inside of a copper pipe with an ID of 2.5 cm, the wall thickness is 2mm. The convection coefficient on the inside is estimated of 500, while the outside convection coefficient is 20.1) Determine the U based on inner side area. 2) If an insulation layer (is mounted outside the pipe with a thickness of 1 cm. To avoid this, an engineer plans to add an insulation layer ) that can reduce 25% heat transfer from ambient. Find the thickness of insulation material. Neglect thermal radiation.
