pls help me answer a and b asap.
Question 2 A lab scale filtration experiment of slurry with a solids content of 24.6 g/L was conducted at a constant pressure drop of 66.50 kPa. The filter area was 5.0 cm? The filtrate had a viscosity of 0.01 g/cm.s. The experimental data is presented as shown in Table Q2.1: Table Q2.1 Experimental data Time, t(s) Voulme of filtrate, V(cm) 6.0 30 10.5 40 16.0 50 23.0 60 31.0 70 The data above will be used to design a filtration system using a plate-and-frame filter press consisting of 15 frames. The size of each frame is 30 cm x 30 cm. The resistance of the filter medium is neglected. The system must be able to filter the same feed slurry with the aim to produce a volume of 2.0 m' of filtrate within a specific filtration time. After the filtration is completed, the cake is to be washed with 0.15 m of water at 400C followed by a cleaning procedure of the filter press for 25 minutes. As a process engineer, you are required to analyse the following cases: (a) Estimate the specific cake resistance and the total filtration-cycle time of the filtration system by assuming the cake is incompressible. (25 Marks) (b) It was observed that the specific cake resistances were varied with pressure drops as shown in Table Q2.2. Based on the data presented in the Table Q2.2, estimate the compressibility constant, s and empirical constant, ao.
