Part 3: Situation Mike and Mary had a dream. They wanted to be in business for themselves and so two years ago they started their own business. Based on Mike's boarding experience on Skateboards, snowboards and surfboards and Mary's fantastic organizing and selling skill, they opened "Totally Awesome" -the board store. Since they had very little money, they got a couple of friends to come over to a small shop that they had rented just in Old Nanaimo and spent a day painting and decorating, arranged informal, long term payment (possibly forgivable) loan from their parents and used it to arrange for an opening stock of skate boards from a rapidly growing supplier who agreed to give them some boards with 50% advance payment. Mike was asked to do some board repair and this has grown with the company now operating a board rejuvenation factory rebuilding old high end boards and reselling them. This factory employs ten people. Mary and Mike have come to be known among serious boarders and so now they carry top of the line snow boards and have recently been getting into surf boards as the sport has become more popular on Vancouver Island. Mary is responsible for sales and marketing in their four store locations, in the lower mainland, Vancouver Island and Bellingham, Washington as well as running all of the stores and hiring and supervising all aspects of each store. Mike is responsible for the factory and maintaining contact with suppliers as well as all accounting including payroll, bank liaison, and all other accounting functions. Together the two partners handle all other aspects of the business and assign work to each of their 92 employees. They are stressed, they are tired and things seem to constantly be on the verge of falling apart. What are they going to do
