Portfolio Project Overview

For each course of the BFN Program, you will complete two tasks related to creating an online vegetarian catering business, which will constitute as part of your business plan. The purpose of the portfolio projects is to consider various aspects of small business activities, thereby demonstrating the application of knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired in each of your courses throughout the program.

Your portfolio project will consist of 2 parts and it will end in a presentation to the class showing the progress made during your business development and planning. Remember both parts of the portfolio project are related, with each part building on the next part.

Portfolio Project Part 2

For Project 3 you discussed how the practice of corporate social responsibility can be profitable for a business, and then researched and wrote about an existing companys actions and policies related to CSR.

Following the principles of corporate social responsibility is important for any companys reputation and legacy, increases its attractiveness for investors, and productiveness of personnel, as well as for customer retention. One of the challenges associated with being socially responsible is to communicate that a company not only implements CSR practices, but follows them in line with the companys mission and values. That is why many companies write up their social, community and environmental initiatives as case studies to demonstrate their CSR activities. Communication of a companys CSR practices on social media also helps to improve a brands image and attracts skilled employees.

For this part of your portfolio project, you will write a blog about how corporate social responsibility is implemented in your small business. In your blog, answer the following questions in your own words in at least 4 paragraphs (5-7 sentences each):
