CLASSMATE 1:

Hi Class,

During the lessons this week, I learned several things about life development and the span of life development and how it affects each aspect of life/lifespan.

Some of the processes that contribute to life span development are Physical development, Cognitive development and Psychosocial development.

Physical development is physical changes, motor skill development, and the like.

Cognitive development comes down to development of understanding and of the brain.

Psychosocial development is related to emotions and social relationships.

Each of these is vital to progression and leading a successful and fulfilling life. They work together in this sense - each person needs physical, cognitive, and psychosocial development. If anyone is missing on of these - they are at a severe disadvantage. These developments get more progressed over time. For example, a 16 year old boy will have more life development than a 6 month old boy. Over time and will age, the boys both continue to develop.

An example of these processes working together would probably be an adult living a successful life, moving to the elderly years continuing to develop until death.

CLASSMATE 2:

In this weeks lesson I learned a great amount of information regarding our development. Development is stated to be the pattern of movement or change that begins at our conception through our entire life span. Life span development is the most dramatic during the first two decades of a human's life. Developmental changes don't only happen to kids and adolescents, rather these developmental changes are lifelong. ( Leipold 2020).

The two most interesting dimensions to me were firstly, Normative History graded influences, These can include economical, political, and social changes as well as impactful events in one's life. I can relate to the fact regarding impactful events that happen to people of a certain generation. First due to the fact I was a senior in high school when 9/11 occurred. But most of all because of the differences in values and norms my grandmother whom was born in 1919 had. Her values and beliefs differed greatly to people of younger generations due to things she experienced such as the great depression.

(Elder and Cox 2020).

Secondly, that Developmental science is Multi disciplinary. Particularly the study of how intelligence and social relationships change with age. I believe they absolutely do. Personally as I got older mainly in early adulthood I was more confident due to the social relationships that I had experienced building up to that point. Also all of the education I had absorbed did make me a more intelligent individual who yearned to always learn new things.
