Poverty is a serious issue all around the world, but though America doesn't fall under the lower income countries category, there is a substantial amount of families that unfortunately don't have much or enough money. According to statista.com, about 7.4 million U.S. families fall at or below the poverty line. This can be largely due to one word, expenses. Costs have increased significantly through the past several decades, and things have become more expensive than they were ten years ago. The article How a Decade of Inflation Has Hit Everyday Expenses by Donna Fuscaldo, inflation surged about 7.5% yearly. Everything from movie tickets, food, housing, activities, and gas has spiked up on the pricing scale compared back to the 90's or early 2000's. Though lots of families in the U.S. are in the middle or doing alright class, as I mentioned, many have little to no money.
