Preliminary design of an electronic board, shown in Figure.1, is to be assessed for its thermal response. Steady behaviours of the printed circuit board (PCB) should be analysed for a safe operation in the ambient temperature of 30C. The PCB is made of FR-4 material with thickness of 0.5 mm. A micro-processor (40401 mm) is placed at the centre of PCB and a circular fan (40 mm diameter) is installed on top of the micro-processor to enhance cooling by forced convection.
