Pretend you are working in a middle school. A teacher comes to you and tells you she has a boy in the class that is sleeping at his desk. She thought she smelled marijuana on his jacket the previous week, but was not sure because his hygiene is generally poor and he comes to school hungry as well as tired. What other questions would you ask and what other information would you want in order to assist you (the school psychologist) in determining whether this boy is using substances. What other hypotheses might you form?
