Prior to Lesson 6, were you aware of any side-effects of psychiatric drugs or electroshock? As shown in the course readings of this session, some of the side-effects could be gravely debilitating to the survivors. Survivors' non-compliance could be deemed as their lack of insight and coercive treatment becomes justified. Please discuss: (a) Do you think coercive treatment is ethical? (b) What should be done to protect the best interest of psychiatric survivors when it comes to treatment decisions?
