Probably the biggest benefit to learning about statistics is to understand how to make decisions and specifically decisions regarding data. We make decisions every day which often should be made with data but sometimes data is not available in our daily life. However, in the healthcare profession because the consequences of such decisions are so grave that it is essential that we learn how to practice our thinking and the context of the data we have available.
