The Fiscal Year 2015 (FY15) budget season is wrapping up and you have to determine what the budget will be for the Mayors Office. The Fiscal Year 2014 (FY14) final budget for the department was $5,210,500. The department asked Council to fund a position with the salary of $119,000 for FY15. Fringe Benefits are 47% of the salary costs. The department currently has 75 positions budgeted and 74 filled. The department also asked the Council to fund office supplies in the amount of $11,000 and additional cell phone costs for the new position in the amount of $2,500. The new employee will also need a work station with a computer, desk, chair, and artwork for the new office. The total costs for the new employees work station is $28,000. The Council asked all of the governmental departments to take a 3% reduction to the overall total FY14 budget for the FY15 budget year.
