Problem 1: There is a popular myth about the mathematician who invented the chess. The local ruler was so pleased with the invention that he offered the inventor a great reward in gold. The inventor suggested an alternative reward: he would get one grain of wheat on the first quarter of the chess board, two grains on the second quarter, four grains on the third quarter, eight grains on the fourth quarter, and son on, doubling the number of grains each time. The ruler was mad thinking that the inventor was underestimating the rulers golden gift by asking for wheat instead!Whether the story was true or not, the numbers do not lie.
