PROBLEM #1 You are interested in the length of time ofa typical top4D song. You randomly sample a group of 20 songs and come up with the following song lengths {in seconds]. The lengths have been sorted for your convenience: 12, 139, 125, 125, 128, 184, 18?, 130, 188, 192, 192, 200, 202, 205, 206, 20?, 209, 211, 233, 243 1. Before embarking on the numeric analysis, examine the data. Decide whether or not there are any outliers in the data. Because this is a very small dataset, you can simply look over the values. However, a graph such as a boxplot or histogram is an even easier way to quickly identify outliers. [And with larger datasets you will not realistically be able to look at all of them, so you will have to plot the data}. However, for now, simply look at them without graphing. Now proceed with the following statistical analysis: 2 Provide the 5-number summary. Do this manually, that is, do not use R. 3 Using the 1.5 IE1R rule, indicate which songs, if any would be outliers on the high side. 4. Using the 1.5 IQR rule, indicate which songs, if any would be outliers on the low side. 5 Thought Question to Answer: If for answer 3 or 4, you have identified outliers, do you think you should remove the value{sl from any subsequent analysis? Explain why or why not you would remove any observations. Use It for the following questions: Remember for this and all R code in the course, to paste any R code you create into your assignment document. 5. Create a vector ofthe results. 1 Calculate the mean, median, and standard deviation ofthe vector. 8. Using R, generate a 5number summary [use the fivenurnl} function}. Also generate a boxplot. Remember to always include a title in your charts. Including labels {where applicable) is always a good idea
