Problem 2. Game-On Shirt Co. (GOC) and Go-Team Shirt Co. (GTC) are the only two licensed producers of Eagles merchandise. Both are trying to get into the T-shirt business, which until now has eluded them. To do so they must first set up their print shops. However, one wrinkle is that both GOC and GTC are space constrained. This means they can only configure their print shops for a capacity of either 500 (low production) or 1,500 (high production) shirts per month. For simplicity, assume there are no other costs associated with production. Eagles shirts made by GOC are not markedly different from those made by GTC. As a result, they face a common monthly market demand from retailers of P =54 - Q where P is the price of a shirt, in dollars, and Q is in hundreds of shirts. As shirt printing technology is the same for both firms, they face the same marginal cost of producing a shirt equal to $3 (MC = $3). Both firms gear up to start production at the same time (i.c. they move simultaneously). 1. Since GOC and GTC are constrained to low or high production levels, compe- tition between them can be expressed using a game matrix. Draw this game matrix, otherwise known as a normal form. Be sure to clearly label all players, actions, and respective payoffs (profits). 2. Does either vendor have a dominant strategy? If so, what is it? If not, show why not
