The CEO has called a meeting with the VP of manufacturing later this week to discuss the quality problems with the 10-ounce bottles line. Apparently the situation is quite serious and the large defect rate is costing the company large losses. In preparation for the meeting, the assistant to the VP asked you to provide insights about the defects rate during the first six months of the year. Daily defect percentages are available for the period January 1, 2015 to June 30, 2015. The data is available in the file DefectsReport. JMP (Click here to download the file). Submit a short report (1-2 paragraphs) that includes visuals, statistical summaries and insights from your analysis in JMP as indicated in (a-d) below. (a) Construct a histogram and a boxplot of the daily percentage of defects from Jan 1s to Jun 30th. Briefly comment on what you see in each of these visuals. Hint: use Analyze > Distribution; review CW-02 if needed. (b) You are not sure the CEO knows how to interpret a box plot. Therefore provide a short explanation of the main aspects of a box plot Hint: Be sure to refer to the mean, median, inter-quartile range, outliers, minimum, and maximum. You can review section 17.5 in Juran's book or any other Stats resource
