Problem 4 (Revised) [40 points]: Consider the system with the one-line diagram shown below, where the generators G1 and G2 supply an impedance load. TI Line 2 Line I G ] Load Transformers T1 and T2 step up the voltage from the generators to the transmission lines (Lines 1 and 2). Transformer T3 steps down the voltage on the transmission lines to the load. The internal voltages phasors for both generator G1 and generator G2 have angles equal to zero degrees and magnitudes equal to their rated voltage. The ratings for each device are given in the following table in terms of line-to-line voltage and three-phase power. Unless otherwise stated, the impedances for each device are given in per unit on the device base. Rated three-phase power: Rated line-to-line voltage magnitude: Generator G1: 50 MVA Generator G2: 20 MVA 13.8 kV Per unit impedance on the device base: X = 0.15 pu 14.4 kV X = 0.15 pu Transformer T1: 60 MVA 13.2 to 132 kV X = 0.10 pu Transformer T2: 60 MVA 13.2 to 132 kV X = 0.10 pu Transformer T3: 40 MVA 13.2 to 132 kV X = 0.10 pu Impedances: Line 1: 20+j80 2 (series impedance for each phase) Line 2: 10+j100 (series impedance for each phase) Load: 5+j4 (connected in wye) Complete the following g two tasks: a) Draw the single-phase equivalent circuit for this system in per unit representation. Use a three-phase base power of 100 MVA as well as a line-to-line base voltage of 14.4 kV in the portion of the system with the generators G. Be careful in defining the base voltages elsewhere in the system and in doing the per unit base conversions! [25 points] b) By solving the circuit, compute the total (three-phase) complex power supplied by both generator G1 (P1+jQ) and by generator G2 (P2+jQ2) in both per unit and actual units (MW, MVAr).
