In Glass 1: Prepare a 0.6% salt solution by dissolving 1.5g of salt (just less than a teaspoon) in 1 cup of water 3. In Glass 2: Prepare a 2.0% salt solution by dissolving 5.00g of salt in I cup of water 4. Glass 3: Add 1 cup of tap water 5. Put a piece of potato in each of the three glasses, cover and leave in a dark place for 24 hours. 6. After 24 hours, measure the length, width and height of each piece of potato. Record your results. 7. Return the potato to the glass and continue the experiment for another day. 8. Measure each piece of potato and record your results. 2nd Setup 1. Repeat step #1 again making 2 French fry like pieces of potato. Measure the length, width and height of each piece. 2. Using two solutions of your choice pour 1 cup of each solution into a glass. (These can be solutions that you find around your house: apple juice, orange juice, milk, tea, different concentration salt solution etc) 3. Put a piece of potato into each of the two glasses, cover and leave in a dark place for 24 hours. 4. After 24 hours, measure the length, width and height of each piece of potato. Record your results. 5. Return the potato to the glass and continue the experiment for another day. 6. Measure each piece of potato and record your results. Observations: Create a labeled data table to record your quantitative as well as qualitative results.
