Process modeling [15 points]
The process described below is to select prospective employees that match the company profile. Draw a BPMN model which represent the process. Your model should:
- Include all participant internally and externally (if any)
- The evaluation process that is defined to evaluate the candidates should be defined as a sub-process in which the input is the resumes and the output is a list of 2 best candidates ranked into 1 and 2
Firstly, a department manager requests the recruitment of a staff member. The manager specifies the position (name, description), responsibilities, functions, salary and profile. This information is sent to the human resources director. If the information is incomplete, it should be first completed by the requesting department; otherwise, the human resources director starts to recruit internally or externally for the vacancy. The vacancy is published in the intranet (internal recruitment) or in different job portals (external recruitment) by the human resources assistant for one month to receive the resumes.
Once the announcement period is over, the position is closed, the evaluation process starts, and resumes will no longer be accepted. The first part of the evaluation consists of psychological tests and an interview with a psychologist who will make a report and qualification of the candidate. Only, candidates who receive a satisfactory psychological evaluation will continue with the process. The second part of the evaluation comprises a technical test and an interview with the supervisor of the advertised position. In this phase, all the selected candidates will be interviewed by the human resources director, who will assess the test and interview results and give a recommendation on these results.
According to the evaluation results, if no suitable candidate matches the job profile, the requesting department is notified, and the position is reopened to allow receiving more resumes. Otherwise, the human resource assistant prepares a report on the suitable candidates including recommendations for the requesting department. The department manager selects the best two candidates. Accordingly, the human resources assistant notifies the first candidate. If the candidate accepts, the process finalizes. Otherwise, the human resources assistant notifies the second candidate. If the candidate accepts, the process finalizes. Otherwise, the position reopens and the application process (reception of resumes and reviews of candidates) starts again. If the position is opened 3 times and there is no suitable candidates then the whole process is ended and the requesting department is notified that there is not suitable candidates for this year.
