Productive behavior adds value and efficiency. Things like staying on task and taking appropriate continuing education courses are productive. Limiting social media to break times or engaging in encouraging coaching and mentoring are productive behaviors. Counterproductive behaviors do not add value or efficiency to the workday or to work goals and tasks. Examples of counterproductive behavior include excessive socialization with co-coworkers or clients and engaging in negative or disparaging conversations. Doing either of these things will reduce productions, interrupt workflow, and add to a toxic environment. Addressing these behaviors and making a conscious effort to avoid them can significantly improve and enhance individual and company productivity and overall work experience
