The Smith family live in a hot neighborhood. To keep out insects, they have placed standard removable screens on the windows of their second floor apartment. One day their eleven-month-old, twenty-eight-pound child accidentally falls on the screen, pushing it out. The baby falls to the ground outside, sustaining severe injuries.
