  1. ProfessorNikitois a Professor in Sports Science at Redmonds University. He frequently appears on television and is well-known for his outspoken opinions. His rival, Professor Carsten fromTunbridgeUniversity, describes ProfessorNikitoas 'using sports science for the sake of celebrity status'.

In April 2020, ProfessorNikitowas invited to give a guest lecture at the University ofSaltbridge. He took the train toSaltbridge, and spent the train journey marking student essays. He was particularly impressed by Zain's essay on exercise and nutrition which he thought was exceptional. In fact, at least 30% of Zain's essay had been copied from a paper written by Professor Carsten for the journal Sports Science International.

ProfessorNikitodelivered his lecture, which was entitled 'Nutritional needs for British athletespreparing for the Rio Olympics 2016' at the University ofSaltbridge. He delivered the lecture without notes for most of it (as was ProfessorNikito'sstyle) but halfway through the lecture, he read out Zain's essay to the audience.

Ron, a regular contributor to Sports Science International, was at the lecture. Ron recorded the whole of ProfessorNikito'slecture on hisdictaphone. He then used the recording as the basis of a paper in which he considered the phenomenon of sports science professors becoming TV celebrities, contrasting the styles of ProfessorsNikitoand Carsten. The article appeared in the December 2020 edition of Sports Science International.

At the lecture, there was a film crew from the localSaltbridgeTV company. The company is preparing a documentaryprogrammeabout Olympic athletes and their diets. The documentary will be televised in two months' time.
