Professor's Observation: One discussion post questioned accounting being developed in Italy over 500 years ago, as described in a video by Susan Crosson. The history of accounting started way before the current system of financial accounting. There were probably many accounting systems before the current one. There has been many civilizations thousands of years before. Susan is talking about the current financial equation: Asset = Liabilities Equity, and then, Debits = Credits. She is talking about the math concept which developed these equations. Technology and concepts are developing all the time.
