Project 3- Analysis of Covariance A scientic team conducted an experiment on the effects of both visual (IV) and auditory distractions (IV) on reading comprehension (DV). One hundred eighty (180) test subjects were used. The outcome is a reading comprehension test score administered after the subject reads an article in a room with various distractions. The test scored from 0 to 15 with 15 being the best. Test subjects are exposed to auditory distractions that consist of recorded noise from a large metropolitan area's morning rush hour with the volume randomly set to vary between 10 and 90 decibels from subject to subject grouped into increasing volume Levels 1, 2, and 3 (High, Medium, Low). The visual distraction is a ashing light at a xed intensity but with frequency of ashing randomly set to between 1 and 20 times per minute. These Frequencies were grouped into increasing intensity levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 (Slow, Moderate, Fast, Very Fast). In examining other variable data for this sample of people, three other variables stand out that might have an effect on reading comprehension. These include temperature (Temp), time of day (TD), and physical distractions (PD). In order to control the effects of these three variables on reading comprehension they are treated as covirates (CV). The variable temperature is coded on a scale from 1 -5 with 1 being no effect and 5 being severe effect (extreme heat or cold or high humidity etc.). The variable time of day is coded 1-4 with 1 being amenable times and 4 being extreme times. Physical distractions are coded on a scale of 1-5. Individuals complete a brief survey discussing any physical impairment that they may have with a score of 1 being that they are relatively free of physical impairments to a score of 5 indicating that several physical impairments may be present such as skin rashes that causes one to itch, eye problems, muscular problems etc. The following information is provided: Use the Check list (Table 6.26) found on page 240 of the text book and the information provided below to write a report on the Analysis of Covariance for the data set provided. (Hint: Report should be similar in scope to "Results at the end of Chapter 6"
