Project description: The only way to reach to this remote town is through an unpaved dirt road. The town reports the during every rain season the stormwater runoff washes the road off and makes it impossible forvehicles to reach to the town. The request from EWB is to control stormwater so that the runoff will not wash off the road Below are the physical properties of the project: - The road is assumed to be kilometers long. Therefore, EWB will pick the most critical 1 kilometer and will (re)construct stormwater channels and teach locals how to manage the stemwater for them to finish the work for the remaining length of theroad - At this selected site, EWB also needs to place a 40'culvert under theroadto redirect the collected stormwater to a nearby waterbody. Project cost distribution: The main cost of the project will be due to: - Total 3 trips for 6 individuals over the course of 6 years. o Year 1: Assessment Trip (8 days): only 4 individuals will travel to collect data o Year 2: Construction trip (21 days) . Year 4: Project evaluation trip. (5 days) Each trip will cost about $2000 per person plus the travel insurance of $150 per person. - The team will obtain the construction material from a local store. We are assuming that the prices will be compatible with a local (Mankato) home improvement store prices. - During construction trip, the team plans to restore the stormwater drainage channel at either side of the road. The channel is expected to be trapezoidal, 3 ft deep anda top opening of 5 ft. The sido slopes are going to be
