Project Overview:

The High school Track and Field event is a two-day athletic competition that will take place in June 2024. The event will be held at the Western Stadium, located in London, Ontario, Canada. It aims to bring together all high schools in the Thames Valley School District to promote athletics, showcase individual and team talent, and encourage healthy competition.

Project Objectives:

• Organize a successful Track and Field event that engages all high schools in the Thames Valley School District.
• Provide an opportunity for students' athletes to compete in various track and field events and demonstrate their skills.
• Foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth among participants.
• Create an enjoyable and inclusive atmosphere for athletes, coaches, and spectators.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and attendees throughout the event.

Project Deliverables:

• Detailed event schedule outlining the dates, and locations of each track and field event.
• Registration process and participant guidelines for all high schools in the Thames Valley School District.
• Organizations of the different sport events.
• Accredited officials and trained volunteers to facilitate fair and efficient event operations.
• Medical support and emergency services to address any potential injuries or health issues.
• Awards and recognition for outstanding individuals and team performances.

Project Scope:

Event Date: The high school Track and Field event will span two consecutive days in June 2024.

Location: The event will take place at the Western Alumni in London, Ontario, Canada.

Participants: All high schools in the Thames Valley School District are eligible to participate.

Track and Field Events: The event will include various athletic disciplines such as sprints, hurdles, long jump, shot put, discuss throw, and relay races.

Event Logistics: The project scope includes planning and organizing the event schedule, registration process, facility management, officiating, medical support and awards.

Project Constraints:

Budget: The Project budget must be carefully managed to ensure all necessary resources are allocated appropriately.

Timeframe: The event must be executed within the specified two-day timeframe in June 2024.

Weather: Unpredictable weather conditions may affect the scheduling and execution of outdoor track and field events.

Capacity: The Western Alumni Stadium has a maximum capacity, and the event must be organized within that limit.

Project Assumptions:

• All participating high schools will actively engage in the event and comply with the established guidelines and rules.
• Adequate resources, including volunteers, staff, and equipment, will be available to support the event.
• The necessary permits and permissions for using the Western Alumni Stadium will be obtained.
• Transportation of the participants to and from the venue is not within the scope of this project.
• Food and Beverages for the participants is also out of scope for this project. Food trucks are welcome at the event but will not be managed by the project team.

Exam:

• The exam should be written in class and will last 90 mins.
• You will need MS Project for questions 1 & 2 and Microsoft Words for Question 3.
• There is a total 80 marks for this exam.
• Submit both your MS Project and MS Word file to the Mid-term exam submission folder on FOL.
• This is an individual assignment. The answers you provide should be your own.

   • There should be at least 30 activities in your Gant Chart.
