Project tendering is the process by which bidders are invited to carry out specific work and is a common procurement method to obtain specific equipment or services. There are a variety of approaches in which a client may approach the market and conduct the tender process such as Request for Tender (RFT). In this approach, RFT is used when a client is seeking potential bidder for a scope of work that has been designed and specified in detail. The commencement of RFT is the development of the project definition and scope which will set the scene for the success of the entire process of the project.

Scenario of the requirement: Faculty of Engineering, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals ( KFUPM ) is planning to revise their curriculum for all of their programs; Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Biomedical and Chemical Engineering. The main application area needs to be addressed in every programs are Industrial Revolution 4.0 which will include multi discipline area of theories and upgrading all the labs and equipment in line with the spirit of IR 4.0. According to your own field of study suggest the equipment or services needed for the implementation of IR 4.0 in the new curriculum. The scope suggested is " Artificial intelligent / machine learning lab".

Based on the relevant scope , decides list of equipment or services: (a) As client, prepare project definition and scoping for the tender documentation. (b) As bidder, prepare a document for bidding project in (a).

This work should include but not limited to following items: 1) Technical details about the equipment, softwares, products, services 2) Cost and Budget 3) Timeline and duration Assuming the starting date is on 2/1/2021, the project is expected to be delivered within 6 months.
