ANTHONY'S POST
Change is an important part of an organization in order to stay with current times. For example, inertia as a company culture may cause the organization to miss out on an opportunity to improve their product or processes, on the insistence that the old product or process is "just fine" or "doesn't need updating". This attitude does 2 things - it passes up the opportunity for improvement, along with allowing competition the opportunity to make these changes, putting them at an advantage. Fostering a culture that is welcoming to change can offer multiple benefits including encouraging innovation, promoting skill growth, improved staff morale, and new business opportunities (McCullough, 2023).
The strategies used during the transition are arguably as important as the need to change itself. If an organization approaches an opportunity to change with no strategy, it's possible that the rest of the company won't be aware of the need to change or the reasons why they should change. Being able to cultivate a sense of urgency to change is integral to successful change management and is a key strategy at the beginning of every change.
