Counterargument Essay: adolescents have the greatest role to play in their life and not teachers, parents and community

Shaping the life of adolescents is one of the most challenging activities that parents, teachers and the society at large face. The drastic changes that take place in the life of an individual during this stage make it possible to live a supernormal lifestyle. Many changes are witnessed in the life of an individual leading to the increased conflicts with others in the same orientation. Without care, it is possible to lose an entire generation to peer pressure and other similar issues of life. Development of controversial behaviors is a common trait as it is a trial and error stage of the adventure. Different commentators have come strongly to talk about the way the adolescence stage shapes one’s life. Most of the arguments exhibit the possibility of having varied ways of behavior different from what may be perceived normal in society. Teachers, parents, and community play a key role in shaping the life of adolescents in society to change how the specific changes alter the life of the young people during the adolescent stage. Despite the major role played by the teachers, parents and the society, the adolescents have a big role to contribute to how the physical and psychological changes to their bodies alter their codes of behavior.

Parents play a key role in the life of teenager but only to direct them on what to do and what not to attend in the immediate environment. The fact that teenagers have well mature reasoning capacities they have the ability to choose what to follow (McDiarmid, 2013). It is the choices the teenagers make at this point that brings negative implications in all areas of influence. The concept at hand is that it is not the role of the parents to help them make an informed choice. Defining the right way to follow is a personal decision that leads to the outcomes in a specific manner. Introduction of a set of norms in the life of an individual is an aspect that is personal and not attributed much by the outside environment (McDiarmid, 2013). Therefore, parents only become victims of a bad decision that an adolescent makes in the name of adventure (McDiarmid, 2013). Parenting takes guidance role at puberty and not the following mode that is evident in the life of children that have not attained the adolescent age. However, to follow the guidelines and empowerments is the work of the adolescents.

The school in its power has a role to play and not to implement the kind of decisions that a student who is puberty has to do in their private life. School culture is always to instill good behavior to students and not to impact them differently. There is always a more plausible platform that is made to have a common denominator on how to accomplish things in the community (Symonds & Hargreaves, 2014). The school role is to educate the students to make informed decisions in particular areas of life. Developing the right mindset is the work of the school advisory team to the children. However, the choice to make on what to follow is left on the hands of the student. The problem that comes is that most students lack the motivation to follow the right path. In a way, it is not the cause of the school to have unwilling students taking the wrong path in life. In reality, there will be obedient students in one class and other disobedient ones who are in the same adolescent stage. Therefore, the motivation to do wrong and become ignorant of obedience is a personal choice that a student makes.

Community or the people adolescents live and interact with also have a role to play in shaping their behavior during the teenage stage transitions. However, extremes in behavior change are at times a significant influence from individualized articulations. Most teenagers end up taking different sides when it comes to who to follow at any given point in time (Kumar, 2018). It is useful to take a possible alienation that will make one be in a specific behavior in life. The biggest problem is the way teenagers take specific directions in realizing the life direction to take. Imitating wrong behaviors simply because there is an individual or a group with the same does not quantify the impact of the community on them (Kumar, 2018). The true alienation that one would take is to compare all the age-mates in the same community. Majority of the young people in a community characterized by lousy behavior will take the right way to live their lives. It is a connection that shows the aggregate impact of behaviors in the neighborhood to the order of character that an individual adolescent would take.

Choices of an individual adolescent matter most than when it comes to the aggregate impact of the parenting, community and the school. One has a big role to play in their life despite the contributions of the given players in the same neighborhood. All the people around teenagers as they grow have an impact on the behavior change and level of extremes that will be witnessed at specific states (Symonds & Hargreaves, 2014). It is enough to say that there is more to exploit to know the specific reason why some teenagers will go to the furthest extreme while others remain moderate. Incorporating the aggregate impact of all factors is necessary to initiate the specific nature of influence in the best way that an individual would go in the given environment. Behavior change among adolescents is determined by specific aspects of the life of an individual. It is easy to contribute equally to all influencing factors. Each factor influences the life of an individual in a unique manner. Through the experience of others in the same community, a teenager may assume the same behavior but under rare circumstances.

Teachers, parents, and community play a relatively small role in shaping the life of adolescents in society to change how the specific changes alter the life of the young people during the adolescent stage. The overall behavior changes that are evident in adolescents is a personalized attribute and not the overall impact of the three key players in society. The idea is that there is always a strategy that comes in between individual decisions and overall environmental orientation. In every state, the student has the biggest role to play and not the other way round. The concepts of behavioral changes in adolescence should be handled with the perception that young people have the biggest role to play altogether. Every decision that an individual youth makes gives a specific alienation to impact the type of person they turn out to be at the end of the day. In as much as parents, teachers and the community play a role in the life of an adolescent, adolescents have the largest part to fill as decision makers. Realizing the role played by the adolescents it will be easy to counter manage the extreme behavior issues evident in some teenagers in the society as they transit to adulthood. Adolescents play the biggest role in their life and not the parent, teachers and the community that acts as a platform to make decisions.
