Propane, adsorbed in a nonvolatile oil, is stripped with steam in a tray tower at 138 deg * C and 1 bar absolute pressure. The entering steam is pure. The liquid contains 18.1 mole percent propane and is passed into the column at a flow rate of 120kmol / h The stripped liquid must not contain more than 1.96 mole percent propane. The amount of water vapor to be used is 1.25 times the minimum amount of water vapor.

a) Please draw the system schematically and label all streams showing the flow rates and compositions.

b) Calculate the required amount of water vapor in kg / h

c) Determine the concentration of the gas phase leaving the column.

d) Calculate the percentage recovery of propane.

e) Determine the ideal number of trays required.

Note: - Find at least 2 intermediate points when drawing the operation line. H' = 0.34 mole frac gas/mole frac liquid at 1 bar & 138 deg * C
