Proposed scenario for LLB mentoring exercise

Scenario: You are a lawyer specialising in intellectual property at a large commercial law firm.

Your client Kathy Ng is an independent TV producer who is creating a 90-minute documentary celebrating the lives and careers of Indigenous federal politicians.

Your client wants to compare the lives of two politicians:

• Ken Wyatt, the member for Hasluck in Western Australia and the first Indigenous member of the House of Representatives; and

• Neville Bonner (deceased), the first Aboriginal in federal parliament, who represented Queensland as a senator from 1971 to 1983.

Kathy advises she wants to include the following materials in her documentary.
