From buying clothes to needing electricity for food storage and air conditioning to now internet for jobs and schools. With the increase in our need the need for financial compensation has grown just as fast. We see every day that the price of goods increases, but our paychecks stay the same. With this affecting all people we should see more help from those in higher places within the government and the companies we work for. In my opinion companies need to understand for them to keep employees they need to pay a livable wage for their area as without the workers to help manage everything day to day the profits they see will slowly diminish. Who decides what a livable wage is exactly? For many years the government both federal and state have decided this, though since the initial selection of minimum wage an employer is required to pay has not change since July of 2009, according to the department of labor, with the average inflation rate being between 3-8 percent the 7.25 will not cut it today and this is something that needs to be discussed.
