Survey of expected spending to support small-grain* farmers over the next year. You have been hired as a consultant by a Manitoba Credit Union to complete an email-based survey of Manitoba small grain farmers that seeks to analyze their spending priorities over the next year. A survey such as this will enable the lending institution to tailor the products and services they offer to better match the expected needs of their clients. For this survey, assume that your 'population' is clients of your lending institution who have already optedin to receive electronic communications such as this survey. The survey results will ideally be representative of small grain farmers from all regions of Manitoba (Regions = North, Interlake, Southwest, South central, Southeast), reflect a broad range of farm sizes, and include/distinguish farms with and without livestock operations, since the institution wants to be able to use information such as this to predict future spending habits. Be sure to adequately address any potential human ethics concerns, if applicable, as part of your survey design. The core survey questions, which will end up being used as dependent variables in the analysis, are: 1) Do you plan to purchase any pieces of farm equipment worth > $10,000 in the next year (Yes/No) 2) Do you plan to complete any renovations of existing buildings on your farm in the next year that are expected to cost > $10,000 (Yes/No) 3) Do you plan to construct new buildings/structures on your farm in the next year that are expected to cost > $10,000 (Yes/No) 4) Do you plan to purchase any new land (for farming purposes) in the next year (Yes/No) 5) Do you plan to lease any new land (for farming purposes) in the next year (Yes/No) Hint 1: It is up to you to develop additional survey questions that will help you to effectively analyze the survey results to satisfy the objectives as stated above. This additional information gains from these additional questions will be used two ways: 1. To serve as independent variables to facilitate analysis 2. To avoid potential confounds when analysing the dataset * Small-grain farm means the type of plants they grow, not the actual size of the farm.
