Provide additional information on any other contract laws that could have protected the contract below.
This is a contract situation that almost got a member of my husband family, (my sister-in-law to be specific) kicked out of work. And how close our family is made me to see that things are going on all over and around the world, especially when it is in regards to contracts. According to her, the proprietor at her school came by and drop her a note, a note which actually was the letter of contract which will dictate how she works, walk and talk and do her job (the way they want her to do the job).
Upon reading the contract, she found out that what the school wants is to rub off or turn off the education system to a specific standard which will only favor them and not really do nothing for the students' life and academic progress. But based on what contract is all about and the purpose for which contract is drawn, which is to establish the agreement that the parties have made and to fix their rights and duties in accordance with that agreement. This agreement did not reflect that; therefore, I will say this type of contract was the "Unconscionable Contracts". An unconscionable contract is one that is unjust or unduly one-sided in favor of the party who has the superior bargaining power. This type of contract is one that no mentally competent person would accept and that no fair and honest person would enter into.
There are risks involved when involved with such types of contracts, some which may result into total loss of life and property and many more. My sister-in-law here would have gotten herself fired from work if she had not read through the contract, as the contract states things that will not only make her lose the job but also get her jailed. One of the things in the contract stated that or rather put it that she is being promoted in some way but in actual sense, she is still in the same position and if she actually tries to exercise the powers that came with the new position she thinks she has, she will get into a lot of trouble. And to protect oneself from such situation, the first step is to read and reread the contract very well and also well thought through.
