Provide Feedback: "When it comes to the role of modern corporate sport, I would have to agree with the author's sentiment, yes. To begin, I think during late-stage capitalism such as what we are in now, there is little fat yet to be trimmed and businesses are highly efficient. To preface, I see nothing wrong with profitability in sports so the players risking their bodies can be compensated handsomely, but at this current stage, I think the level to which sports are monetized does strip the traditional joy found in casual and organized sports. One question I would like you to think about for a second, if you had the opportunity to earn tens of millions of dollars each year, would you not expect your motivation to perform to dwindle as you accumulate more wealth? I think this relates heavily to the average 9-5 employee, with struggles to find the motivation to put forth the same amount of effort after being situated in a comfortable position for so long, I think corporate sport can be compared to a job, albeit a dream job for most people.
