Barnett,

Selection of the applicants for this project was overwhelming at first but after taking a through look at their strengths and weaknesses it was apparent which teams would work well together as primary and secondary leads. As I dissected each applicant's brief description my first order of business was to find a team that would be able to cohesively work together. Second, I looked at their overall strengths and how each team member would be able to offset their weaknesses to build the strongest team possible. Lastly, I took note to which individuals wouldn't work well together and ultimately decided on shying away from assigning those applicants on their primary/secondary teams together.

Lead Engineer - Carl Clear (Lead), Paul Paulson (Secondary)

Carl Clear has been on many successful projects and considered top engineer in his industry. While he is respected by many people in the company, and he is a great team player. Where Carl's shortfalls at he struggles on costs with the project. I think with my selection as Larry Tandle as the Financial Manager this will offset Carl's shortfalls to keep on track with the budget. Paul doesn't have as much experience as Carl but is considered creative and a team player. He doesn't shy away from numbers, but his shortfalls are in regard to designing. Paul would be great secondary to Carl as his only shortfall in comparison is the overall years of experience.

Contract Manager - Ron Nieber (Lead), Todd Morison (Secondary)

Ron Neiber stood out as my first selection as he has eight years of contract management has been with the company for ten solid years. Ron is well liked amongst his team members and has a good reputation on previous projects. Ron enjoys working with Carl Clear and they have done many successful programs together. As we stated Carl Clear is bad with costs as Ron Neiber is good with costs, I think Ron can help offset Carl's shortfall as Ron also has a background in finance. Todd Morison was my secondary selection has he has fifteen years of experience with programs and has led a few successful programs. With Todd having so much experience his biggest shortfall is that he doesn't work well with others if he feels that they are underperforming.

Financial Manger - Larry Tandle (Lead), Thomas Walters (Secondary)

Larry Tandle has been years in the finance industry with the company and is considered an expert by other employees in the company. He has a solid reputation and is well liked by others across the organization. The main reason why I selected Larry has my first choice is the years of experience and expertise he provides with being liked by others maintaining a good reputation amongst them. A good secondary that I selected behind Larry Tandle is Thomas Walters. Thomas is also very seasoned in the finance industry and has ten years with the company. Thomas was selected as a solid backup to Larry as he is good with numbers and is able to handle accounting problems with ease. The downfall is that he is not the best with clients, and he struggles to communicate with others.

Creative Design - Linda Vera (Lead), Julie Tyler (Secondary)

Linda Vera has a strong work ethic and is competitive in her perspective industry. Although she is new to the company, she has been in the business for ten years. She is well liked by most people, and she is very innovative in her work. She is a located locally in relation to the project and she is motivated to be apart of the team. I choose Julie Tyler as a secondary she doesn't hold as much experience as Linda although she has been with the company for four years. Julie is well versed as she has worked with finance in the past. However, her shortfalls include the inability to work well with others.

Client Support - Sam Roberson (Lead), Jason Anders (Secondary)

Sam Roberson is very experienced as he has an overall with twelve years of client support experience with seven of those being with the company. I thought Sam was a good selection as he is very good in his line of work and has worked on several large programs. His communication skills will greatly impact the overall project with the potential customer. Additionally, Sam has no shortfalls when it comes to teamwork. Jason Anders is my secondary selection as Jason has also very experience with ten years and has led several successful projects. He is a good back-up as he is very well liked, organized, and driven. He can handle tough clients and has a strong customer focus. His biggest shortfall is that he is known the get a temper with others but ultimately gets the job done.
