"ENRE305 - ELECTROMECHANICAL ENERGY CONVERSION COURSE PROJECT "Fall 2020-2021" The project descriptions are provided as follows. Each group should separately work on the project. Project reports together with the project simulation file(s) should be submitted as stated in the "Project Report Instructions". Each student in a group should individually submit a copy of the project report and the simulation file(s). PROJECT DESCRIPTION A single-phase transformer circuit is to be designed. The transformer parameters (tums ratio, the primary voltage (V.), the internal primary impedance, the secondary internal impedance referred to the primary and the load impedance) are provided separately for the project groups. The secondary voltage (V2) and the current flowing in the secondary side (12) should be obtained. The project consists of three stages; A. The students should manually solve the question according to the parameters provided for each project group and the V2 and I, value B. The students should simulate the same transformer circuit in PsPice program and obtain the results (V2 and 12) through the simulations. C. The students should compare the calculated and the simulated results (calculated and simulated V2 and I2) and discuss the results. Group 6 N4 = 3200, N2 = 1800, V= 3800 V, 27 = 13 + 319N, 2 = 18 + j43.1, 2, = 30 j22 N V = 1,=? PROJECT REPORT INSTRUCTIONS Prepare a formal, final report for the project. The report should incorporate all of the work done by the students. All figures should have figure numbers and captions. The report should be organized as follows: 1. Introduction: Describe the system being analyzed and the work to be conducted in PsPice. 2. Procedures: Describe what you did for design and simulation of the project. 3. Results and Discussion Provide the manual calculation results together with the simulation results obtained from PsPice program, including appropriate figures for the waveforms. Compare the manually calculated results and the simulation results. Discuss the reasons for the possible differenced between the calculated and the simulated results. 4. Conclusions Include the conclusion of your project and describe your confidence in your simulation of the transformer circuit. PROJECT SUBMISSION The deadline for projects submission is Thursday 28.01.2021. Each student should submit a soft copy of the project report together with the PsPice simulation file in the related filed on Moodle. The project reports should have a cover page including the course name, student(s) name, surname and student number.
