PURPOSE

Aristotle believed that ethos, pathos and logos were different means of persuasion.

• Ethos comes in the form or a person's credibility, or how much the speaker is qualified to speak about a topic
• Pathos is also known as emotional appeal
• Logos refers to logic and reasoning

The best persuasive speeches include appeals to all three ways of persuading people. I'm not requiring you to label these in your speech, but they are important to consider when developing your speech.

Each character demonstrates ethos, pathos and logos, although some of the characters demonstrate them poorly.
