PURPOSE: for you to gain valuable experience and confidence writing in a "Professional Email" Format.
This Email is intended to be FROM YOU to a prospective employer, which in this case we are imagining is the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation)

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Please read carefully the brief article attached below, "How to Format a Professional Email Message"

2) Imagine that CBC Television is scouting out new talent for their journalism & broadcasting department.
They are interested in hiring ones who have participated in our "Public Speaking Workshop".
YOU have been invited to WRITE an EMAIL to them in order to introduce yourself and request a job interview.

3) Of course, they will appreciate it if you share one or two of your good observations with them about what you learned or how you benefited from our "Public Speaking Workshop".

4) Most Important: Do your best to write using a "PROFESSIONAL EMAIL FORMAT" (as described in the attachment below). Your "Email" may be presented on a Word doc, Google Doc etc.

HOW TO GET STARTED:
- read and try to understand as much as you can of the article attached below titled "How to Format a Professional Email Message"

- do your best to apply what you learned by writing an imaginary email to the CBC.

TOOLS TO ASSIST YOU:
In the article attached below you will find it very helpful to refer to the two samples it provides titled:
* "Template for a Professional Email"
* "Professional Email Message Example"

SUGGESTIONS:
Your "Professional Email" doesn't need to be too long but it should:

1) be PERSONAL from you (not copied from the sample or a classmate)

2) be CLEAR and UNDERSTANDABLE to read (explaining one or two of your good observations with them about the strengths and weakness of our class.

3) briefly EXPLAIN HOW YOU FEEL that your personal experience in our "Public Speaking Workshop" has now qualified you for or aroused your interest in the imaginary job position at the journalism/broadcasting department of the CBC.
