Purpose

 

In Part 1, you will cover data quality in terms of sources, issues, and mitigations within a business. Some of this concerns standard business practices and areas that may need attention in a data governance plan. Data quality is also important in terms of master data management. You will further explore master data management areas and architecture.

 

Part 2 covers summarizing four business practices and the effects they may have on a business. You will also look at advantages, and disadvantages, of each business practice. Finally, you will discuss how the business practices chosen affect data governance

 

Instructions

 

Part 1: Data Management

 

Based on research, compose an informative report covering the assigned data quality and master data management topics. In the paper, analyze master data management and data quality. Discuss what master data management is, how it fits into a business as a whole, and the benefits of it. Be sure to discuss the importance of data quality as a whole in any given business. Also, include data sources and issues for poor data quality, as well as mitigations for ensuring quality. Finally, cover how the integration of data quality practices and master data management fit into data governance. Part 1 should be 2-3 pages and must provide at least two references outside the assigned text.

Part 2: Business Practices and Data Governance

 

Based on research, compose an informative report covering the assigned business practices and data governance. In the paper, analyze agile business practices and organizational change management. Discuss what each is and how they affect business practices. Research and discuss two other business practices. Describe how the four business practices fit into a business as a whole and the benefits/disadvantages of each. Finally, cover how the four business practices can affect data governance. Part 2 should be 2-3 pages and must provide at least two references outside the assigned text.
