He has scheduled a tax interview with you and has brought his T4 slip to the interview with you so that you can prepare his tax return for 2022. His SIN number is 123-456-789 and his date of birth is 5 October 1997. For this scenario, assume that Redfords provincial tax amount is $0 and assume that all CPP and EI contributions are for the correct amount for the tax year. Redford is employed by Reddings Manufacturing, a Canadian public corporation, as an accountant. He received a salary of $64,900 in 2022 from which the following amounts were withheld: Withholding Category Amount Income taxes $6,800.00 C.P.P. $3,499.80 E.I. $1,025.42 Redford had the following other receipts in the current year: Received $1,200 in taxable dividends from Redondo Ltd., a Canadian public corporation. You have already determined that he has no dividend credit to report on his T1 return. Received $300 in taxable interest earned on a term deposit held at the TD Bank. $500 for selling his 3-year-old dining room table set and and 1-year-old sofa when he moved.
