1. Purpose of Assignment: Becoming familiar with current arbitration cases/decisions is important for a good understanding of labour/management relations. This assignment will help you better analyse labour/management disputes and the role HR can play in preventing grievances.

1. Source and Current Case: Your case must be no more than five-years old and be a case heard by an arbitrator or panel in Ontario. The case should concentrate on the issues arising in labour/management disputes. Obtain an arbitration case from the Canadian Legal Information Institute (Can LII) Ontario Database

2. Why you think this topic and the decision are important in a unionized environment.

5. Your assessment of how the problem should have been addressed to avoid the possibility of litigation.
