Purpose of Assignment: Your education will be among the top three most expensive products/services you purchase in your life. A key principle in our economic system is that consumers are rational profit maximizing individuals with complete information. Yet, most students have no idea what their schooling is costing them or even if their degree is worth the money. The purpose of this assignment is to have students calculate the full cost of their education in order to determine if they are making a wise consumer choice. Cost of School: In this assignment you are asked to do a cost-benefit analysis on your choice to pursue a college education. You are asked to calculate the cost of your college education (your cost, society's cost, and the total cost) and compare it to your anticipated salary when you graduate. You are to conclude by answering the question "Did you make a wise consumer choice?" Should be a minimum of 2 pages in length, 12 point font, Times New Roman, 1 inch spacing margins, and double spaced. Your grade will be based on your ability to accurately calculate the true cost of college education (25 pts), accurately assess your anticipated salary (30 pts-10 of the 30 points will be for turning in a printout of your source), and answering the question if you made a wise consumer choice (45 pts). If your interpretation of the numbers is off or you don't follow instructions you will be graded down (100 Total points)
