Purpose: There are several purposes behind this project. First, many of you will have had relatively little contact with young children and need to spend some time simply observing a child to make some sections of your textbook more meaningful. Second, it is important for you to begin to get some sense of the difficulties involved in observing and studying children. You will attempt to write down everything a child does or says for one hour.
