Purpose To create a powerpoint presentation, and related activities to support staff development, as well as gain knowledge and understanding of various areas related to working with children. Instruction As a director it is your responsibility to ensure the staff has ample opportunity to further develop their knowledge and skills in Early Childhood Education. While there are many online offerings for professional development, it is important and at times necessary to provide the training yourself. This assignment will allow you to practice creating a training session for your staff. You may select a topic of your choice. There are suggestions at the bottom of the assignment. Make the topic something meaningful to you. You will need to research information about the topic and include your resources at the end of the presentation. Create a power point presentation to be used for staff development. The presentation must contain: An objective, or purpose, for the training An icebreaker or introductory activity related to the topic you are discussing Theory and information related to the topic A goal for the training: What are your expectations for staff in regards to incorporating this new information into their work with young children? 3 hands on activities staff will engage in during this training. These are to have staff interacting and using the content being presented. A slide with references used to prepare the presentation Things to Consider (You do not need to answer these questions.
