Q1 .) Starting with principles I-II above : a.) Show that the relationship between T and r is in the form given by eqn la. In your derivation , you should also be able to identify an expression for "C". Put your derivation here however you can (photo , scan , etc ). C = b.) Examining what is included in "C", are there any parameters that would make it different for each moon (around a given planet ), or is it expected to be the same for all of the moons? Data "Collection (Note : The steps below are subject to change depending on the exact website .) 1.) Get your data! Open up a web browser and go to the website given by your instructor i.) You should see a listing (at left) under "Ring-Moon system" of four planets = : Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune . Choose one of these to use -your choice . Enter this on the results sheet (see back of lab). ii.) Click on "Tables of ring and satellite information". Skip over the data on the planet's rings (we don't need that ). Below that , there is data for all of the moons ("satellites ") of the planet , which we will use . iii. ) Highlight all of this moon data, including column headers, and paste it into Excel. To get it to paste properly, you (may ) need to perform a "special paste ". [Press bottom of "Paste " button .] 2.) Preliminary Data Prep in Excel: a In case you're curious why only these four planets are listed -- these are the four ringed planets , though rings will not be our focus today
