The distance of each segment is: 1100km,1073km,1338km and 1344km respectively. The capacity of the aircraft's fuel tank is 45,000 litres and at each city the airline can purchase up to 37,000 litres of fuel. To allow for circling over an airport, the ending fuel level for each segment be at least 2,000 litres. The number of litres used per km on a segment =1+ (average fuel level for the segment / 2000). Average fuel level for the segment is computed as (fuel level at the start of the segment + fuel level at the end of the segment) /2. Price of the fuel per litres at each of the cities is: Delhi Rs.82, Mumbai Rs.94, Chennai Rs.89 and Kolkata Rs.85. Formulate a linear program for the airline to minimize the fuel cost for the entire route. (15 marks)
