Q3.

A manager has prepared a forecast of expected aggregate demand for the next six months, and wishes to use a level production plan. Backorders, if necessary, are permitted. The relevant cost and capacity figures are given in the table below. Develop an aggregate plan to meet this demand given this additional information.

Complete your aggregate plan in the table below.Assume you already have a sufficient number of employees to produce up to 60 units of regular time output per month. First, determine how many units must be produced per month. Then, indicate how many of these units will be produced using regular time, overtime, and subcontracting output. You only need to provide this information in the first column (under Month 1). Since this is a level plan, you know that the same number of units (using the same sources of output) will be produced in each of the time buckets of the planning horizon. Next, fill in the cells for beginning inventory (beginning with Month 2), ending inventory in each month, and the number of units backordered (if any) in each month. If a month has no backorders, enter a (0) zero in the cell. Any cells where beginning or ending inventory is zero (0) should also have a value of zero entered.
