Q3: Alignment of our function to the purpose using QFD framework: (10 marks)

QFD framework is effective to align "WHAT WE OFFER" to "WHAT IS REQUIRED BY THE USER". In that context, your function can be effectively aligned to the user function. Use the QFD framework shared in the class.

1. Identify a user function of your function
2. Briefly describe the user function
3. List the "Voice of customer" (meaning the requirement of the user function with attributes
4. Rank the needs in terms of importance to the user (get it from the user)
5. Get from the user the improvement rating (This is like our product in the future/ our product today part of QFD; instead of the bench marking to get the improvement rating, get the rating from the user like "Do you need me to improve in this requirement fulfillment? If so by how much in terms of percentage).
6. Compute the overall ranking by multiplying the importance with improvement
7. List what you measure as metrics (like Product Technical Requirement in QFD)
8. Correlate the Metrics to the User requirement using 1,3,9 rating
9. Compute the criticality rating of the Metrics by using the sum product
10. Identify and describe three improvement opportunities to improve your alignment to the user

Function that is being referred here is - Logistics which includes - Collaborating with customs, and other external inspection authorities on documentation, goods clearance, and other routine matters. Analysing and reviewing freight cost and transportation rates; Pivotal role in verifying of customs documents and coordination with the Chamber of Commerce as and when required. Significant role in establishing smooth transition from GOLD ERP to SAP, hence ensuring all High Value shipment are moved to their respective location as per schedule. Involved in Quotations, bookings, documentation, shipments tracking and tracing, custom clearance, and billing as part of the process.
