(1) Compute the fraction f needed to heat the water from the first pump to 130C, and (2) compute the efficiency of the resulting cycle above. Hint: H2 is assumed to be the same as H1,S5=S3 in Fig 13.16 (b). To compute f we need to compare the enthalpy change in the steam that goes through the regeneration cycle () to the enthalpy required to heat the output of pump 2 to Tr=130C, which is f(h5h6)= (1f)(h6h2). Remember W34 is reduced as a result of the diversion f, while input heat is also reduced by h6h2. Therefore, overall efficiency is improved
