QU ESTIDN E Amir collects and sells rare pieces of jewellery. Each set of four pieces retails at 5 and is marketed through professional sale spersons and through Amir's own intemet site. Amir receives an email from a company called Glittering Gems. He presumes that the company is part of the Glittering Gem Group. which have generated considerable publicity and business in the past. In the email. someone called Kraft. from Glittering Gems offers to purchase all Amir's current stock for his stall in the Glittering Gem Group Exhibition. The email includes an attachment where Kraft is featured on the front of what appears to be a yer for the exhibition. The email also states that Glittering Gems will be honoured to promote Amir's collection to exclusive. wealthy clients who are willing to pay above retail price for rare pieces of jewellery. They ask Amir to attend on the day of the exhibition to help display his collection to best effect. Amir agrees to this. The day before the exhibition. the Glittering Gems team arrive at Amlr's premises with a limousine into which they load Amir's stock. Amir is told that a woman called Zara will drive him to the exhibition. Esra gives Amir an ofcial - looking Glittering Gem Group pass with his name on it. Zara drops Amir at the front of the exhibition centre and goes to nd a parking space. When Amir tries to enter the exhibition. he is told that the Glittering Gem Group has never heard of Glittering Gems. Zara. or anyone called Amir. Amir later traces a large amount of his stock to a shop called Gold sn-sr Silver. The owner of the shop. Jocasta. made the purchases in good faith from a man called Kraft. who said he was the collector. She paid him 50.titi for the stock. Later on. Amlr discovers that the exhibition yer he saw in the email was a fake. Advise Amlr whether. under the doctrine of unilateral mistake as to Identity and the decision in Shogun Flnence Ltd v Hudson [2on3] UKHL 52. he could have the contract between himself and Kraft set aside. and recover the goods from Jocaeta
